![]() Now, when I try to install VS2010 again, it just fails completely. I tried using the VS2010 Uninstall Util with the /full command and even though it reports it being successfully removed, it still doesn't work.Įventually I resorted to a tool that removes orphaned MSIs from the \Windows\Installer folder, and while that allowed me to install things that require VS2010 SP1, their installers fail on other missing components. ![]() I tried following the instructions on this blog but they did not work for me. When I try reinstalling VS2010, it works, but SP1 now refuses to install because it still complains about the missing VSIntShell source folder. What's worse, some software refuses to install unless I install SP1. Now here's the problem: Even though I completely removed VS2010 and SP1 from my machine, some apps still report it as being installed. Eventually I managed to remove it using Revo Uninstaller CCleaner. Then I tried to uninstall VS2010, but it complained about not being able to find the source folder for VSIntShell. Some time later I figured I didn't need Management Studio any more, so I uninstalled it and deleted the folder. I installed SQL 2014 Management Studio, which in turn installed VSIntShell (VS2010 Integrated Shell). I had VS2010 Pro with SP1 installed on my machine for work purposes (have to maintain old apps).
